Overview
I’m the type who misplaces things like it’s a hobby, so when a MagSafe wallet with built-in Find My came along, I was in. While living in Japan offers me some confidence that it'll come back to me, I can't say the same for travel.
The Leather Mag Wallet promises that perfect mix of sleek Apple-like aesthetics and actual functionality—a slim card holder that sticks to your iPhone and pings its location if it wanders off.

Nomad’s been in the game for a while, known for combining high-end materials with practical designs for the tech crowd. This wallet follows their formula: minimalist, functional, and made to age with character, the exact formula that has resonated with me all these years.
From experience with most of NOMAD's products, I am sure that it'll check all the boxes for folks like me who are obsessed with Magsafe. Let's find out.
Style
The Leather Mag Wallet comes in black or brown, both understated enough to pair with whatever case you’re rocking. My black one matches my black NOMAD Rugged case almost too well—which is no surprise given NOMAD's attention to detail and design synergy across products.

The Horween leather starts crisp and smooth, but like any good leather, it’ll scuff, mark, and wear into a patina that tells your story. Over the years, I have seen this on my NOMAD wallets and love how they turn out as they get abused.
The only branding is the small Nomad logo stamped in where the Magsafe connector is on the back, so you'll rarely have to see it. On the same side, it was also stamped with Apple's Find My wordmark and a curious circle which turned out to be the power button.

If there is one detail that I can nitpick, is how the top of the slot is angular but the hole on the bottom is rounded. I thought it would have felt more unified if it was either way.
Material
Vegetable-tanned Horween leather means it’ll age, giving you a patina that tells a story. It’s sourced from one of the oldest tanneries in the US, known for leather that holds up without turning plasticky like cheaper alternatives.
The polycarbonate frame inside keeps the structure firm and an internal spring mechanism grabs your cards, so your cards don’t slide out if you hold your phone at an odd angle.

Usage
As someone who switches MagSafe accessories a lot, I appreciated how easily this wallet snaps on and off. The polycarbonate base is a good choice as it lets you take it off your phone without potentially damaging the leather with your nails.

You can connect to the wallet using Apple's Find My app. You'll have to turn it on first by pressing the power button, marked by an indented circle on the back of the wallet and a sound will tell you that it's turned on. Then, you can add it by selecting “Add Other Item” and not “Add MagSafe Accessory”.
However, the power button won't let you turn it off. The Find My tracker can be charged by a Magsafe charger, but there won't be any indicator if it is charging or charged. All rechargeable batteries deteriorate over time, so only time will tell how this will hold up.
As for the card capacity, it holds one securely without any wobble. The spring mechanism keeps even one card from falling out, but also lets you easily pull cards out without difficulty.

Two or three cards would be the sweet spot. You can jam a fourth card in, but good luck getting it out without cursing. When I tried, pulling it free dislodged another card in the process.

The cutout at the bottom helps push cards out, but you’ll need to slide out the whole stack and thumb through them, even with just two cards in the slot.

The magnets handle regular use fine, but if you overload it or snag it pulling your phone from your pocket, don’t be surprised if it pops off. This isn't within NOMAD's control though.
And like any black leather, it picks up marks, smudges, and fingerprints fast. It's patina and make sure you maintain it with conditional.
I designed a thing.

I found a 100 year old company that would create these heirloom quality canisters for me. They are handmade and will keep your tea leaves, coffee beans or anything that you need dry for years to come.

Conclusion
This is a clean, functional wallet for MagSafe fans who want to track without the bulk. It’s not perfect—the capacity is a bit tight to work as your only wallet.
But if you love leather that tells a story over time, it’ll grow on you. Just don’t expect it to solve every wallet woe.
